Attention property owners! Incentives are here to help you install electric vehicle chargers.
With support from Community Environmental Council and Electric Drive 805, two programs just launched that make it less expensive and easier for homeowners, businesses, and owners of multi-family properties to install chargers for electric vehicles. The first program is California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (CALeVIP), which CEC helped bring to life through a partnership between our local air pollution control districts and energy providers. The second program is Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Charge Ready, which is committed to expanding efforts and installing 38,000 charging stations in its territory over the next five years.
The programs have a set amount of funding that could run out quickly, so act fast.

Available in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties
Includes level 2 and DC fast chargers
Up to $6,000 per port or 75% of project cost for level 2 chargers
$30,000 - $80,000 in rebates or 75% of project cost for DC Fast Chargers depending on power
Additional funding available for multi-family housing, low-income communities, and disadvantaged communities
Eligible sites include commercial , workplace, multi-unit dwelling, public facility, fleet, or curbside charging
DC Fast Chargers must be located at a publicly available commercial or municipal facility

Includes level 1, level 2, and DC fast chargers
Up to $2,900 per level 2 port, with additional maintenance and networking rebates
Up to $40,000 in rebates for DC fast chargers
No- or low-cost infrastructure to support charging equipment
Rebates to help offset the price for the purchase and installation of qualified EV charging stations
Programs range from new construction rebates, charging infrastructure and rebate, and turn-key installation (for mult-family properties in disadvantaged communities)

The wave of electric vehicles is here. Last Thursday, President Joe Biden signed the Executive Order on Strengthening American Leadership in Clean Cars and Trucks, setting a goal of 50% zero emissions vehicles in the USA by 2030. Last year, Governor Gavin Newsom set an even more aggressive goal with his executive order of 100% zero emission vehicles in California by 2035.
